I am Thibault Van de Sompele, a young programmer and entrepreneur from Sint-Niklaas. I've been programming since I was thirteen when I got my first computer. Later, at university, I was bored because I was far ahead of my classmates.

When I left university to start Mateza, I felt anxious, but deep down I knew it would work. I called one of my best friends, Ian, and together we took on the challenge. Despite the sacrifices, we are proud of the result.

Mateza Booking 3.0 is the third generation of our reservation system. This is the result of listening to many hospitality operators. We quickly discovered the dissatisfaction with the existing reservation systems. That’s why we do it differently. No long contracts that bind you; instead, we are cancellable on a monthly basis and provide personal support.

For example, a customer asked me to develop a new feature to meet a specific need of his restaurant. Three days later, the feature was online.

Thibault Van de Sompele, a young computer scientist and entrepreneur from Sint-Niklaas, has developed his own booking system for restaurants. The inspiration came from the television program ‘Restaurant Misverstand’. "The well-known players in the market actually have a monopoly, and from that position, they charge exorbitant subscription prices of more than a thousand euros per year. Our system is 75 percent cheaper," he says.
